WHITESTONE CHEESE WINDSOR BLUE NEW WORLD CHEESE LOVERS’ CHOICE

Thursday 3 December 2020: Whitestone Cheese Windsor Blue has been voted as the New World Cheese Lovers' Choice 2020.

Whitestone Windsor Blue was one of 28 cheeses New World shoppers had the opportunity to vote for as their favourite.

This is one of many accolades which has been bestowed upon Whitestone Cheese Co. Windsor Blue. As well as being named Supreme Champion at the NZ Champions of Cheese Awards 2006, it has won 10 trophies and 12 Gold Medals at these Awards. This cheese has also achieved international acclaim at the International World Championship Cheese Contest held in Wisconsin USA.

Whitestone Windsor Blue is a creamy blue with a soft buttery texture and a silky smooth mouth feel. It has Whitestone's original blue culture that dissects the rich curd and combines to produce a delicate flavour that intensifies with ageing.

Usually New World hold the annual Cheese Lovers’ Choice Awards in the first part of the year so they can announce the winner with the other trophies at the NZ Champions of Cheese Awards. However, this year Covid-19 meant shoppers and supermarkets were focused on other priorities in March, so voting was held from Monday 28 September until Sunday 25 October 2020 during NZ Cheese Month.

Whitestone Cheese Windsor Blue is handmade in Oamaru and is available New World supermarkets nationwide.
